That's really interesting actually. Is JavaScript still considered a scripting language or given it's modern web development application, is it now a fully fledged programming language?

Javascript is a scripting language like python , ruby or php. It just lack of some spec for modules for instance , Node has its own module system.

But the node.js modules and packet manager are really nice.
