I tested it with "I'm a US Citizen travelling to Macau." but didn't get any result. The US state department web site http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_955.html#en... says no visa is required.

If you're interested I can confirm that a passport is all you need to get into Macao as a U.S. citizen.
