I think this "fix" would be used mainly by people who feel uncomfortable when they see assertive and well-written comments that disagree with them, and therefore it would hurt the signal-to-noise ratio. True mistakes are rare, no more than 5% of total votes. That's negligible for this context. It would be much worse to let people fix their votes after realizing the social context of their opinion.
