That's a rather petty closing paragraph. Your comment would be better without it.

There is actually great value in confirming things we thought were probably right. A person upthread mentioned that the LHC hadn't discovered much new, but the vast majority of its data does provide confirmation of what we thought and when we talk about a "reproducibility crisis" it is actually good to know that these things are correct even if it's not headline news.

Sure, call me out, but not the petty comment which I replied? I think the petty meter has become too sensitive


I held you to a higher standard based on the meat of your comment. It would have stood without that last.

I've written many comments where I added a dig at the end but I now try to remove them because they rarely help.
