I think "scummy" is a bit of an overstatement. I would have preferred it if there was a message first explaining how CSS Hat helps you stop using Flash (I'm assuming that was the intent). I'd be more likely to tweet in that case.

It looks like just a joke to me, I imagine it came from 'How do we get all these web developers to click on this link and maybe tweet'
