US$10 a month is EXPENSIVE for just searching, it might make sense if it was bundled with other ‘buzzwords’ like encrypted 2TB storage, etc., in the meantime, meta search engines are the way to go for generic stuff.

There's obviously no solid counterpoint to cost — if it's too expensive for a user, than it's just plain too expensive.

For those for whom $10/mo isn't too expensive, there's now an alternative that's better than Google. And for that, I'm happy.
