as government powers are derived from the people, and I don't have any right to walk into your house and ask for your mail, the government has no right to invade our privacy.
there are better ways to keep us safe. lots of private software does this already and has lots of problems. I see no reason to assume the government would be any better. I could maybe get behind less privacy for government programs interfacing with the American public and for corporations
