By any metric, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) did not effectively control or prevent the spread of COVID-19.

I didn’t see mention of federal or state political activities in terms of cdc’s actions. I would have thought these would be significant/noticeable…. I don’t live in the us - did the cdc have executive action authority or was it advisory?
