I run tracker Control, it acts as a 'vpn' so it can block ads, not unlike a firewall.

This let's you block ads on a system level or as I do on my p30 Pro not let any of the system apps connect to the Internet.

Why not use Private DNS feature with an ad-blocking provider like adguard? Not sure if you have the option but you can as well control internet connection per app at the system level too. This last option might be available for android 11+ I think.


I would rather some apps not have Internet access at all, blocking tracking and ads is good but them not getting any data at all is even better.

seeing as I have no way to disable system apps as I'm not rooted.
