Helping to write a sort of compiler for a new chip architecture.

The previous job I had (I've only had two programming jobs - used to do engineering) also wasn't CRUD - it wasn't as algorithmic but it did involve lots of low level USB programming which was interesting.

Are non-CRUD jobs really that rare? Surely if you don't want a CRUD job just find a company that wouldn't need to write any...
