WTH, a 302 into a "mailto:" (search for "HTTP redirect" in the featured article) opens up my e-mail client without clicking a mailto link!? This seems wrong.
Some browsers ask whether to open the email client in that case. I don’t see it as significantly different from a redirected download link that would open a program based on the mime type or file ending. Or from a redirect to another URL pattern associated with an app, like for example how YouTube links may open in the YouTube app.
* macOS 26.x on MacBookPro M1 Max 32GB
* Ollama on macOS, cursor to play around
* Open WebUI [1] on my Homeserver via API to Ollama (also for remote „A.I.“ access)
* running gpt-oss:20b, qwen3.5:9b with ease, qwen3.5:27b for more complex tasks
I tried man times but at least with its API active, LMStudio has some kind of memory leaks which will slow down the whole system (after ~1-2 days of uptime) even after unloading the model and stopping LMStudio up to a point where even playing a 1080p video results in frame drops. No such issues with Ollama.
This is the only reason I stick to Terminator, but none of the othet terminal emulators are coming close. I wouldn‘t even be searching for an alternative if Terminator wouldn‘t crash every other week.
It's ridiculous that going to a Target/Bestbuy/etc you cannot find any non-smart TVs generally. I have had several older models of non-smart tvs that suddenly stop working after a few years. It's disgusting
It's either because the non-ad-driven tvs cost more, resulting in too few sales to sustain (because no lifetime revenue from data sales) or the lifetime revenue from data sales is so profitable that companies take the risk on being undercut by a market entrant that will sell dumb tvs.
My guess is that the vast majority of people will trade data for a cheaper price point every time (my wife is certainly one of these people), so the market just can't support the volume of sales necessary to make the price point of dumb tvs competitive.
A smart TV just means one that can show you advertising and hoover up personal data. This is additional revenue. What company would sell you anything else?
