Where did I say they were blameless? There are varying degrees of bad behavior, and while the US Government has a whole host of actions they can be validly criticized for, they're not even in the same ball park as the PRC.
As I said, we really need to consider how so many Westerners have become so blind to that fact that this weak whataboutism can we depended on when any mention of China is made.
If you're using Contentful then how is that different or better than wordpress or any hosted system that is made for writing posts?
The only 2 advantages of splitting this into separate systems is extra customization (even though hosted solutions are already very flexible) and compiling the entire site into static files. The 2nd seems to be more of a thing for devs to enjoy rather than something that makes a real difference to users, especially when you're already using a CDN.

If you read the comments, you'd know that there's an unclear market which is a totally reasonable concern. HN is a place where people share their thoughts and concerns.
