I think it's a cool way to show off some info, like foundation you support or certain non-mainstream tech you use. It's great to use such things as conversation starter. I had a few on my previous laptop. No regrets!

What's even better is that you can access it with duckduckgo !hn bang.

Please update illustration link, doesn't work.

Yes, there's really something about old school system administration. I do really appreciate how Fedora and Debian SA team does it, you can see here: - https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/ - https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/infra/ - https://dsa.debian.org/

This is as close as we can get right now. https://github.com/200ok-ch/organice

damn, i don't use dropbox, gitlab or the 3rd option. pity they don't have google drive or github support. in any case, i don't really want to have an actual file to manage somewhere on the cloud except for maybe a backup. just transparently deal with storage via the webapp.

Note that this concerns the studies cited in just one chapter (of 38 total) in Thinking, Fast and Slow. The chapter is about implicit priming.

I've read the article. I remember when something similar happened with Why We Sleep. I'll take the time to readjust my views. Thank you.

No need to ask other people about that. Just have a weekend learning Emacs + Lisp and make your own opinion. This configuration (https://github.com/susam/emfy) is a great start. If you like it - use it, if you don't - throw it away. Also, you don't have to fall into a trap of configuring Emacs, well known hackers uses the bare minimum of it and are highly productive. If you're afraid of RSI, you can quickly change default bindings using, for example, Xah-Fly-Keys, or Evil if you're into Vim bindings.

Would upvote HTDP as a great book to read before starting SICP, if you only begin your programming journey.

How many people search before creating another Ask HN, which was discussed already many times?
