Just just seems like a reason to have a truely distributed DNS system that is censorship resistant. The complaints presented should be _unfixable_ since they are a feature, not a bug.

There is no such thing as unfixable. It's just kicking the can down the road. Look at how email devolved because of the features that made spam "unfixable". I would like dns not to go down the same path, which seems all too likely if nothing is done. Already most corporate networks are blocking most "new" domains. It's only a matter of time before new domains you buy are essentially unusable.

Its only a nothing burger if its a benign reason for the recall. Otherwise, 25,000lb is enough chicken to make a lot of people sick. People might eat a lot of chicken every year, but it only takes 1 bad meal.

That actually does make sense seeing as fossil bakes in issues and wikis and all that other stuff that makes it hard to use plain git.

GitHub's wikis are just git repositories with folders full of Markdown files. That's the easiest thing to pull out of GitHub. Just git clone the wiki repo. At that point I often just use a git headless merge to merge the second repo into the main repo under a docs/wiki/ folder or similar.

As I recall, in GHE I remember finding that you could even turn off the repo's wiki at that point and then reset it to point to your docs/wiki/ folder and still have the Wiki interface but pointing it to a branch in the same repository. That was a while ago and I don't know if it is still supported in GHE. I also remember it was work managing that wiki branch because Wikis didn't directly support PR workflows if you have branch protection policies. Also from the documentation it doesn't look like it is supported in Public GitHub right now, which seems a shame to me, as someone who likes all documentation in the same repo as the source. I haven't needed Wikis in public GitHub much, so I haven't tried to do anything like point them to a main repo branch.

That's fair. You could also just put the wiki in a different branch if that's your style.

It's mostly dumb because of obvious analog loop holes. I at minimum carry 4 devices with cameras, often as many as 12. If I want to capture the disappearing message... I will do it; making it annoying just makes me pissed at the developer + the is.

Which is why everyone should root the their phone to turn this kind of shit off.

Parents should be imprisoned if they give children access to the internet. We have to make parents criminally liable. Without a change in incentives, we cannot expect behavior to change. Until then 'parents need to parent' is a slogan and not a solution.
