You seem unprepared to understand what life is like for the majority of the world

And the reason I stopped using it

This thing about openai brand is changing fast. In the dev circles I'm part of, everybody dislikes OpenAI and prefer Claude. How long it'll take for the same to happen with the normies?

You see, in my circles (me included), people are shifting _to_ codex since 5.3 codex came out.

The only places where I hear people say claude is better is: - Frontend design - Random computer use tasks

But people trust codex for large scale architecture and changes

I use Claude for work and Codex for private use due to already having a Plus subscription.

I can't say that I have noticed that 5.3-Codex is much better, but it's definitely on par with Opus 4.6, and its limits for $25/months is comparable to Max x5 at 1/4th of the cost (not to mention pay-per-token which we use at work). Claude Code is generally a much better experience though.

I scrolled this thread fearing seeing that name and a SVG of a dog riding a bike

So you are saying the bots go to sleep? Not a very smart allegation.

"Bots" have for a very long time now to a lot of people meant people who are following instructions/being paid to post/reply rather than only scripts.

"Bots" being actual humans in literal office buildings feeding and flaring up misinformation and dissent online.

They've upgraded to AI's recently though, usually the first response is a canned AI thing but if you keep arguing you'll get an actual human.

AI-related xits and blog posts (especially from simonw) too!

what you described is that using google is a novel business risk

Google has gigantic power over its users. Consider that for some reason, Google banned your gmail account, which you are using for large number of logins for different essential services.

All it takes is Google to ban you from one service and you’re locked out of things like, oh I don’t know, GCP…

It depends.

How many of the comments without links were in a thread that started from the links? I'd guess at least some 2 or 3 out of 10.

What about just last year? We are probably close to 7 out of 10.

It's annoying.

He's an active member primarily self promoting

Simon's comment history indicates otherwise

That's not Simon's work or even any work at all, it is a link to a xit
