Why do none of these classes ever seem to provide enough information about the actual content?
For example what programming language will be used in this class?

ok so here is a question.
How do you plan to let people online actually program a robotic car? (More likely) Do you plan to have some kind of simulated environment? Make hardware accessible through the web? actually run student programs on hardware (and send results back to students)? Make datasets from actual car sensors available?
I am just wondering about the scope of the course here. More information would be great.
Tangential: Does anyone actually write Robotics code in Python? All real life examples I've seen (that actually drive robots vs teach an algorithm) uses C/C++.
The robotic car class is a separate class, so I'm not able to answer all the questions about that one. (I am pretty sure, though, we won't be able to actually send people physical robotic cars! There will be a simulated environment, but it will use real data.)
Not relevant to your course, but do you know if it is planned to put other courses, like Compilers, Programming Languages Theory, Symbolic AI and maybe also Operating Systems, in the near future?
Yes, there are plans to develop enough courses to cover all the major topics that would be part of a good university CS degree (although not always following the traditional structure of these courses), but it will be a while before more courses are launched.
Mediafire also don't give incentives for people to put popular files on their system as far as I can tell.
With most services like MegaUpload/Rapidshare you get paid when people download your files, hence their popularity, its a business for a lot of uploaders.
I think the more interesting stat from that report is the huge lead that iOS has over Android in terms of web use, it seems really strange given Android's explosive growth.
Here again I suspect they are only counting the default Android browser and not all the alternatives, although the iPad might also be a factor.
It's not strange at all. They don't measure device units with their stats. They measure "time spent in the browser". Considering an iPad is used a lot more for web browsing than a phone, whether it's iPhone or Android, it dramatically skews the results in favor of "iOS". Plus, they measure stock Android browser usage. And many Android users don't even use the stock browser.
But the main point is they don't measure device units, so if you're looking for that, don't look at browser stats, especially not the ones from Net Marketshare. They've always been misleading like that. They've even added the iOS browser numbers to desktop Safari numbers once and said "Safari had much higher growth than Chrome" - which is just silly.
If you want device numbers, just listen to what the companies themselves are saying. The last numbers from Apple for all iOS devices were 250 million, and 200 million Android devices. Clearly the Net Marketshare stats don't show that at all. They show iOS being 3x bigger, which is very misleading, and what's upsetting is that they actually bank on it.
no not strange given iPad's rise compared to iphone and android phones...so far devices to counter that are Samsung Galaxy Tab and Kindlefire with a future nexus table mid 2012.
I believe AppBrain released some stats not too long ago, the vast majority of Apps do verry poorly if I remember correctly, will try and find the report.
