Just to clear up some confusion, you are likely referring to MDM software like MobileIron, Intune, or AirWatch. MDM software CANNOT see personal messages, photos, or access your own personal apps. Schools (and companies) use MDM software to inventory devices, push profiles to simplify things like VPN access, SSO, and email configuration. It is also used to to push school related applications to the device and sometimes for remote diagnostics and support. IT departments and school districts are as uninterested in your personal information as you are in them having it. No need to worry.

I'm not sure I understand what you are implying. How so?

Possible issues with symbolicating the crash logs if you don't have the debug symbols as they're generated on Apple's side.

If Apple does the linking of the final binary for you, you won't have a way to recover the symbols <-> address mappings you need to desymbolicate (that'd the dSym file you usually upload to hockeyapp)

Actually, you have it backwards. The US was previously a first-to-invent country but as of March 2013 is now first-to-file. This brings the US in line with the rest of the modern world, which is already mostly first-to-file.

Generally, you will find that the difference in 'demeanor' for campus police is due to the flow of money. For city, county, and state police... fines and fees generally flow back to their respective coffers. Campus police (technically state agencies) on the other hand (generally) have budgets appropriated by the state regardless of revenue generation. This is why you will often hear stories of a drunken college student being escorted home instead of arrested; there is no financial interest in having them arrested.
