Why should HN pay for a questionable service when it already gets crowdsourced results for free?

Varlock has bw plugin too - and similarly you can either wire up individual items or pull a whole env style blob from a single item if you prefer.

My system CLAUDE.MD spells out my preferences in stack and architecture, and how I expect the agent to interact with me.

I have it generate a summary doc in large repos so it doesn't need to slurp in the world to review a PR or work on a corner of it.

This is interesting. I'd already had a conversation with my harness ( pi ) about incorporating continuous improvement. This is a great deal better than what I came up with.

I'm bothered by it because whatever git command that I'm executing will put its output in a pager and when I quit the pager it's not there anymore. I want the output on the screen when I start typing the next command. Oh my God, this is such a frustrating pattern.

This is indeed an annoying, but solvable, less default. You can eg use `export LESS="-XF"` to change behaviour.

It took me way too many years before I set this as a default in my profile files.

I had the same issue specifically with git, for the same reason. You can configure git to not use a pager by setting core.pager to an empty string.

Then export PAGER= in your shell profile should help!

Unfortunately not all programs respect an empty PAGER vs an unset PAGER. It's more reliable to use PAGER=cat

`git config --global core.pager cat` will fix this.

That solves many of those problems, although it rather introduces a big gravity well to escape from when replication is complete.

Though, by the time we've replicated a complete industrial hinterland (up to and including a semiconductor supply chain) which the author describes, it seems like generating fuel and engines wouldn't be impossible.

Also to the authors last point (extremely long time scales causing degradation), it seems like we'd want high thrust capabilities regardless. i.e. maybe a small gravity well doesn't gain us anything, since we'd need big engines to get up to speed anyway.

I did exactly that ( bitmap ) for a retail application back in ~2000. It was just a couple of constants for the stop and start sigils plus an array of bits for the digits....it was a quick work.
