My experience here (also Claude user) is that the model uses different tools in different contexts. I see rg more on frontend and grep more on backend work. I imagine it defaults to using the tool it has more learning around within the contexts it's reaching for and since for the most part it's 6 of one or half a dozen of the other you'll see environment specific usages for these tools in claude for now. I imagine eventually it'll standardize but we're early yet on such things.
If you'd told me a decade ago I'd finally learn some sed in 26 because I'd want to understand what the AI was doing I'd have told you you were crazy . . .
Would a smart AI accept such foolishness? I doubt it. It'll still use something deterministic under the hood - it'll just have a conversational abstraction layer for talking to the Product person writing up requirements.
We used to have to be able to communicate with other humans to build something. It seems to me that's what they're trying to take out of the loop by doing the things that humans do: talk to other humans and give them what they're asking for.

Would it, or would it rewrite / refactor the logic every time. I'd expect the logic to remain as it for months, but then change suddenly without warning when the AI is upgraded.
Correct, you cannot remove a version or the whole crate unless very specific criteria are fulfilled. You can "yank" versions. That prevents people from adding the version as a new dependency, but if you relied on it before it got yanked, your build will succeed.

They would fine them by having a court case and saying they are guilty and owe money. Collecting on it would be awfully difficult, but you know, people do like trips to Europe.
That said, I think fining the company seems pretty plausible. They won't, but it'd be nice if they did.

No, that isn't right. It's the culture differences, not locations, that are being compared here. Location is only correlated to those differences; being in Japan vs being in the US doesn't guarantee the comparison.
