Ruby is about to die permanently. A language that copied emacs-lisp but with syntax? Lol that gives it features to impress the ignoramus majority but real Haskell or Lisp programmers know better.

I am outraged by your post. Look at start ups as a whole and it is full of white people. By using the "small company" excuse you are allowing an entire segment of the economy to bypass diversity!

Start ups are in desperate need of diversity training.

1. Browse the projects hosted at GitHub[1].

2. Find photos of the creators of these projects.

3. Notice that the overwhelming majority of the creators are white.

4. Realize that startups want to hire experienced software developers (e.g., developers who have projects on GitHub).

I'm absolutley outraged, offended, and flabbergasted of the use of "he".

Ethics prevent a real study where you lock the fatties in a cage and accurately measure the calories eaten.

Fatties lie like a pro when it comes to dieting.

And yet when calorie restriction is done through restricting carbohydrates, the results are much more convincing http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2716748/

And if PubMed isn't your cup of tea, just head over to https://www.reddit.com/r/keto, unless you think those ~125K subreddit members are just lying.

Not all calories are the same. I myself lost almost 40lbs on the keto diet (~200 to start, now around 160lbs). 31, male, sedentary IT worker. NO EXERCISE. I eat everything except carbs (fruit, beer, anything with sugars).

Beer and alcohol has quite a lot of sugar.

Alcohol doesn't contain sugar. Rather, it replaces glucose in the blood and can be used directly as a fuel without any conversion.

This is unlike in low-carb diets, where fat must be converted to a fuel (via gluconeogenesis) before cells can use it as energy, and this conversion itself takes energy.

Effectively, alcohol reduces the benefit of low-carb diets but doesn't necessarily increase the insulin response as would a high-sugar diet.

My typing mistake. Those items I listed were what I don't eat.

Beer has quite a bit of sugar, but hard alcohols do not.

Do you watch the news? Flying machines with guns are decades old tech. Drone versions are actively used. Welcome to the present.

The us military finds drones more practical for bombing.

Seems he already knows the solution. Go native with c/c++. Re-write the front end per platform.

That is my approach.

Xamarin requires anyway an UI implementation per device.

The time spent fighting integration bugs can be used in productive coding instead.

This works pretty well on iOS where you can transparently mix C++ and ObjC but on Android you're looking at JNI hell.

Still way better than having to deal with JNI hell plus whatever code, that you don't control, sits between your application and the JNI calls.

My little Qt review, which I posted in a sibling thread, reminded me why using the platform tooling is always the best approach.

Retire to create less competition for them. Then spend money on software contracts to create new seats.

Even the <foreign country> resumes with false ages put down 27-30. Any ageism against 25 will be of the too-young variety.

Make getting a job your full-time job. Full on, no dabbling. Persistently.
