Why'd anyone want to build something like Twitter again?

He said "the next Twitter", to say the next big thing with possibly tons of req's per sec. It could not necessarily behave like Twitter or share any features with it.

Why does everybody here seems to stick to words in such a "nerdy" way? :) Use common sense sometime guys.

Drop Django-nonrel. It has issues of it's own. You can stop using Django's ORM and use Mongoengine[1] ODM which is actively under development and awesome. You might have to make some extra effort, but it'll at least keep you away from problems of some stale 3rd party app.

We're definitely exploring mongoengine. The problem is that we've read that it doesn't support the Admin UI then. All these tradeoffs!

To say that Linux is an operating system means that it's meant to be used as an alternative to other operating systems, Windows, Mac OS, MS-DOS, Solaris and others."

How does this fit into things?

I'm only posting my opinion, and it's my opinion that they are wrong and pretending that all these Linux distros are the same operating system is an extremely harmful mistake. I know that opinion is not mainstream.

That's why multiple data points are used.

There was only one shutdown. That isn't multiple data points. They could be measuring the effect of anything that occurred during the same time period as the shutdown: The recovering economy, which specific films were new releases during that period of time, the popularity of other goods or activities that serve as substitutes for movies during that period of time, the weather, etc.

To get multiple data points you need multiple events.
