I agree. In my experience it does too much and takes too long. Maybe that's just cause I use it on xhigh setting.

This has to slow stock market growth, right? Less young people buying, more older people selling.

Yes. A massive implosion in aggregate consumer demand due to shrinking population will hit real estate, stocks, tax revenue, and therefore the ability to meet debt repayment obligations.

Frustratingly, (and counterintuitively), it won't help housing prices, because shrinking populations retreat to city centers. Spain, Italy, Japan, and Korea are full of $5,000 houses. Meanwhile, Madrid, Rome, Tokyo, and Seoul are more expensive than they've ever been.

Most stock market trades aren't made by people, but by institutional money. That ain't going nowhere.

The institutions exist for people to do things like retire.

Undoubtedly they will continue to exist once the people they serve seize to exist.

It's not about existence it's about what drives the flows. People are born, work and save, and retire. Part of the savings enters as institutional money, and is consumed in retirement.

Ha, this has some serious There Will Come Soft Rains energy.

How can we collectively fix apps/websites that are so poorly built that they take 10 minutes and 100 taps on your smartphone just to do something that could have been done in a minute? Companies put out an app/website as the only way to interface with them, you just have to deal with it. I've daydreamed about starting an agency which scouts bad apps and offers to fix them, as a sort of public service.

I noticed this when comparing my experience in open offices with lots of airflow to the cramped spaces of our WeWork co-working space. I could feel the difference. Also one time I slept in a small basement room with no ventilation. I woke up at 3am feeling like I couldn't breathe. I opened the door and felt better.

I've come to realize this: we are all raising money more than we admit. Whether it's from venture capital or donations to fund non-profits, money is more political than I realized because it's all about the idea of value, which is subjectively determined by humans.

Cyber defense and offense are the same security research skillset. Not sure anybody could really untangle that.

The Bitwarden chrome extension just randomly stopped working for me the other day. This is after years of working flawlessly. I had to remove the extension and add it back to get it working...What a shame. Hosting a password manager isn't a game; these are people's real lives and businesses at stake.

I've had similar issues, it's ridiculous!

Acquired did a fantastic podcast about the history of Costco. https://www.acquired.fm/episodes/costco

Agreed. Recommended.
