I agree that HN is not the place for that, but on the other hand a lot of his policies have very real effects on a lot of people, so not everyone can afford to ignore him. And while this one policy doesn't really impact anyone, it does serve to prove to the rest of the world how self-centered he is.

I'm using hyperbole to showcase a point. Most of the alarmists here on HN genuinely believe that democracy is ending and Trump is the next Hitler. I'm not dramatizing, that's what they actually believe.

In a vacuum the immigration pause might be innocuous. But put into context the other actions and statements from this administration and it tells a deeper story.

I believe when the views of that person who has influence on the product, and it does not align with the services they say they desire to provide, it’s an issue.
