Guys Facebook is no Microsoft or Google who only buy to soft kill the competitor.
FB is different just look at their past acquisitions like Instagram and others, they all survived and are still in active development and rolling out new features.
If it were MS/Google acquiring Oculus, negative reactions would have been justified.
All of FB's past acquisitions before Oculus (just Instagram and WhatsApp) were social media platforms, precisely what FB specialized in and knows how to work with. They don't need to do any radical shift with them, they already serve as private data and analytics incubators.
Oculus is a completely unrelated avenue for them, and one can only wonder what their intentions are. Zuckerberg already made a PR statement that the company intends on turning Oculus into a social platform of some sort, so this does raise some eyebrows.
As much as I have ethical quandaries with Google, I'd be more content if they had acquired Oculus.
Well coz its readily available unlike Paint(.)Net and its simple and quick like notepad.
Actually the lack of features is what most people love the most about ms paint.
For me Gnome (2 especially) always felt more natural and productive to use than Unity. Besides, you could easily customize your Gnome to look and behave exactly like Unity but you can't replicate the same with Unity.
Gnome 2 always annoyed me because on every fresh install I had to spend time moving the two separate task bars to be just one. Vertical real estate is at a premium on all monitors, why would I ever want two bars taking up precious space?
I love that feature. One bar for the various menus and the other for the list of open windows. I often have several versions of the same application open while working and it is easier for me to find the right window on the open window bar than the alt+tab interface. When I upgrade Ubuntu again, the first thing I will do is install Gnome 2.
