Honestly not sure. I used ghosty and others for awhile but had continuous issues of it not passing a compatible term variable so a lot of tuis would break.
This is normally a problem only when connecting to a remote computer through ssh, if you have not installed there the terminfo entry for ghossty or kitty or whatever recent video terminal emulator you are using.
If you do not want to or you cannot install the terminfo data, there is the easy workaround to put in your shell initialization script on the remote computer something like "export TERM=xterm-256color".
Ghostty aims to be completely compatible with xterm, so everything should work fine after setting thus TERM, only the newer features of ghostty will not be available.
Just want to add that we have the same feature in Ghostel.
As it copies stuff to a remote host, automatic ssh injection is disabled by default but you can enable it by setting `ghostel-tramp-shell-integration` to true.
Our issue was on multiple fronts. On windows it was GlobalProtect overriding dns requests. On Linux it was an issue with the OS fighting which nameservers to use. The fix was some experimental flag, tho I can’t remember it currently.
That’s how we handle it with ours as well. He found a way around a certain control and we opened a bug report with the vendor and it was acknowledged and fixed. He then realized he locked out other kids with that and laughed and tries to find more worth reporting.
As much as I prefer the European way of some items. I think the American way of treating the work computer as a company asset and just locking it down to an insane degree makes way more sense. Especially for areas like finance.
I've been in a lawsuit with Oracle (as engineer, not direct). And their discovery hit EVERYTHING.
If I used work devices for personal messages, my personal messages would absolutely been in scope.
Or if I used personal devices for work, my personal devices are now in scope. Hell NO!
My work laptop is on my personal network. Its also on its own vlan and can only talk to the imternet, and not fellow devices. And I can attest to that as much if I'm ever called in for a discovery hearing.
I have my work items on a separate network as well but my motivation is more not trusting some random item being pushed down from corp and having it scan my network or something.
Discovery doesn't work like that in Europe though. It's not nearly as all-encompassing. And personal messages definitely would not be in scope. I think this is one of the reasons there is so much difference in strategy.
When we get requests to "legal hold" an account for discovery, this is always coming from the US.
> Or if I used personal devices for work, my personal devices are now in scope. Hell NO!
In Europe, unless it's a criminal investigation, which this wouldn't be, there is no way a lawsuit would touch your personal devices if you didn't agree (and mostly also nobody would care I think).
That is more of a problem with the insane discovery system in the US than with anything else. If you had worked in Europe, GDPR would have protected your personal data from being sent over, as the Credit Suisse case has shown. They had to scrub all personal data before transferring files to a US counsel.
I do the same for the most part. There are a few ppl I still let show on my feed, but as soon as they post something not relevant to the platform as I intend to use it, “Stop Following” is clicked instantly.
From what I've heard, it sounds like it's not nearly as good or simple an experience as DarkSky was. But as an Android user I wouldn't know, DarkSky was just killed by Apple for everyone but Apple customers when they merged it in.
Wells Fargo for the longest time had a daily spending limit on its Check Cards and a daily withdrawal limit. If you had a Debit (not check card) your “spending limit” was your withdrawal limit.
If you tried to make a purchase above the spending limit it was a hassle. I am old tho.
I can add to the personal experience piece. I am way more emphatic, to the point I apparently now tear up on certain movies/shows. Also yeah way more impatient and honestly more selfish now due to lack of personal time.
