I use them frequently but I'm skeptical of their "private" claims.
I asked one of the DDG ChatGPT bots about some error output from a program and apparently forgot to redact a URL. I found the DDG bot trying to access it about half an hour later. It was a long and randomly generated alpha-numeric subdomain and the conversation never discussed the URL or anything related to it- it was simply buried in the pasted error output. I think this was even before the DGG bots had web search capability. I was thoroughly spooked.
Interresting, Have you done any Møre testing trying to trigger this behaviour?
If it is semi konsistent or even just alone it makes a god case to switch.
I have the same sentiment. I've never really had success using Gemini outside of translation. Although, even with that, Gemini would often refuse and I had to remind it that it does actually know other languages.
My most recent trials output single commas as responses to basic questions or it simply refuses the task on ethical grounds such as generating a photo of a backpack wearing a hoodie for some reason (it claimed harmful stereotypes and instead generated an ape).
Refusing to do perfectly ethical tasks is probably the most consist problem I've had.
I use a Firefox profile to watch specific videos while logged-out just for the focused recommendations.
I've also noticed that I getting more recommendations for small creators with little to no views/subs when I'm browsing from a smaller, developing country.
The article I read a few days ago said that the tattoo artist posted on Instagram advertising their arrival to the US and taking clients. They had done the same with the previous destination on their tour.
If it's true, it seems pretty open and shut, so I'm not really sure why this is popping up on HN now.
It doesn’t seem open and shut at all, why not just deny her entry if they’re so sure at the border? It’s popping up on HN because apparently she’s been detained for over a month… well after her scheduled return flight. why would this ever be necessary?
I don’t know why this is on HN either but even if it is true, why detain for her so long? Why let her in at all? If it’s “open and shut” why hasn’t it been shut? Why is she still here?
A few weeks ago I noticed my cheap Toshiba microwave does the same when the door button is partially pressed. Scary! I stood there holding it just right for a very long time to make sure it wouldn't heat a cup of water.
